Matt and Brittany’s Gettysburg Wedding

She prayed, and God answered. Sunshine, pleasant temperatures and He sent a gentle, whispering breeze to provide the perfect wonderland for this princess’ special day.

The anticipation rose, I held back tears as I watched that long, black limousine  pull up with the bridal party.

When the chauffeur opened the door Brittany overflowed with beauty and excitement.

I knew how much this day meant to her. I wanted every. single. moment. to be captured and perfect.

Matt and Brittany have always been joyful and very pleasant to work with. Their desire was for this wedding to be a celebration of their love and they wanted all their guests to have fun, rejoicing with them in this new chapter in their life.  That is exactly what I saw and they seemed to walk on the clouds.

Matt’s personality is reserved, but you can see his soul through his eyes. Brittany is soft-spoken, but full of life and adventure. As I watched them together I could see the twinkle in his eye as she would get one of her impulses and jump into action. I honestly think she is going to wear him out eventually.

What you could see vividly is Matt’s love for Brittany. Matt could barely hold back the tears as he softly and in a shaking voice committed himself through the vows he had handwritten just for Brittany. Later in the ceremony, I finally connected that he inherited his gentle spirit from his father, Steve, who gave the toast.  Steve talked about his Irish heritage and then as he spoke the Irish blessing over their marriage and finally gave them a picture of the Irish blessing for a gift. As he wiped tears from his eyes, he spoke about Matt and Brittany with pride, deep love and a bit of humor. I knew he must be a special man because Brittany always spoke so highly of him.

However, I knew that he really loved her when he gave her a gift of acceptance into the family-a Philadelphia Eagles, team “Wentz” shirt which she proudly held up for all to see.

Side note: When Matt & Brittany went to their cake tasting, Brittany couldn’t decide between the seven flavors, so she decided to have the party inside the cake and picked them all, each layer a different flavor! She couldn’t decide with the food either; so everyone got one of everything!

Matt and Brittany, we pray that you are blessed beyond measure. Thank you for allowing us to be a small piece in your very big day. We were honored that you chose us to capture your most precious moments in photographs. It was our pleasure to serve you.
